Dr Geetha Menon is a female psychiatrist working in her own private practice, conveniently located in the suburb of Success, South of the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Dr Menon was born in Louisiana, USA and grew up mostly in Auckland, New Zealand having spent brief periods back in USA.
She was educated in New Zealand, and graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Auckland in 1995. She completed basic medical training and registered with the New Zealand Medical Board in 1997.
She then completed Basic Training in Psychiatry there, before moving to Western Australia in 2007 to complete Advanced Training in Adult Psychiatry in 2008.
Over the past 10 years she has worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist in various public and private medical settings within Western Australia, such as Bentley Health Service, Bentley; The Marian Centre, Wembley; and the SuperClinic located at Cockburn Integrated Health, Cockburn Central.
Dr Menon takes great satisfaction in helping patients achieve their goals for recovery back to mental health. She recognises that psychiatry can often be complex and bewildering for patients. She takes special care to put patients at ease, and explain things clearly using plain, simple language and a down to earth style. She takes time to ensure they and their carers understand and feel thoroughly informed.
